This tool reads text from scanned or image-only PDFs using Google Cloud Vision and saves it in an editable Word (.docx) document. Choose the document language, such as Arabic, English, or Arabic and English together, or leave it on auto-detect.

To keep the service free and fast, only the first 2 pages of each file are processed per request. The pages are sent as images to Google Cloud Vision for text recognition. Accuracy depends on the quality of the scan, so check the result.

How to use this tool

  1. Upload your scanned PDF (up to 30 MB).
  2. Select the document language, or leave Auto-detect.
  3. Press Convert & download and review the text in Word.

Frequently asked questions

How many pages are processed?

The first 2 pages of each uploaded PDF. For longer documents, use Split PDF to cut the next pages into a separate file and run them again.

Can I upload a photo instead of a PDF?

Not directly. Turn the photo into a PDF with the JPG to PDF tool first, then upload that PDF.

Which languages are supported?

You can choose Auto-detect, Arabic and English together, Arabic, English, German, French, Spanish or Italian.

Where is my file processed?

The pages are sent as images to Google Cloud Vision for text recognition, then the result is returned to you. Files are not kept on our server.
